With agriculture safety at the forefront of its mission, the Agricultural Safety & Health Council of America (ASHCA) set its strategic priorities for the next three years and elected a new officer team at ASHCA’s October 2026 board meeting.
Newly elected officers include Paul Riley of AgReserves, Inc. as board chair. Matt Spencer of the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association will serve as vice chair, along with Jill Oatman of Gallagher as secretary and Sage Saffran of The National Milk Producers Federation as treasurer.
“We are excited to have our new executive team in place while we work alongside our entire board to advance our shared priorities,” said Riley. “Prioritizing agricultural safety educational programming while strengthening opportunities and resources for our members are main goals for ASHCA moving forward.”
The board set priorities for ASHCA including reshaping its educational offerings under its AgSHARP® brand while developing a comprehensive collection of safety information and resources from organizations across the industry. ASHCA is also expanding its annual summit to bring research and practical safety skills together around a shared goal: making agriculture a safer place to work and live.
“ASHCA connects agricultural safety research with the realities of working on farms and in agricultural businesses,” said Spencer. “We’re excited to build on that role with refreshed educational offerings and a stronger network where agriculture safety professionals can share ideas, learn from one another and put that knowledge into practice.”
